Masroor's request from the members of the Free Zones Faction; Removal of value-added tax in the zones

Reza Masroor, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, emphasized the removal of value-added tax in these zones during a meeting with members of the Free Zones Faction of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

According to Freena, Masroor, in this meeting held to review the challenges and opportunities facing the free zones, emphasized the need to create appropriate legal frameworks to strengthen the role of these zones in the country's economic development.

He stated: Value-added tax is considered one of the main obstacles in attracting investment and developing economic activities in free zones, and its removal can help increase the competitiveness of free zones, attract domestic and foreign investors, boost production and exports, and create hope among the people of the regions.

 the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones further referred to free and special economic zones as the driving engine of the country's economy and added: Free and special economic zones, as the driving engine of the country's economy, require special support to achieve the set goals in attracting investment, creating employment, and sustainable development.

Reza Masroor said: We are looking to move the free zones towards seventh-generation zones, which are digital free zones.

 he added in conclusion: Considering the programs and competitive advantages and incentives we have for increasing exports from free zones, we aim to achieve a one hundred percent growth in exports in these zones for the coming year.

Members of the Free and Special Economic Zones Faction of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also emphasized the necessity of greater cooperation between the government and parliament to remove legal and executive obstacles facing the free zones during this meeting.
